OVERVIEW

SWSC is actively implementing projects designed to empower women, support gender equality, and promote resilience across Somali communities. Our projects focus on critical areas such as gender-based violence prevention, economic empowerment, and peacebuilding.

CHANGES II Project

Duration: 2021-2024
Project Focus: Promoting Gender Equality and Positive Social Norms
The project focuses on shifting harmful gender norms and strengthening family and community support networks through participatory engagements and advocacy efforts.

EWER (Early Warning, Early Response) Project

Duration: January 2024 – April 2025
Project Focus: Conflict Prevention, Civic Engagement, and GBV Response
The initiative focuses on generating and using data on emerging conflict dynamics and GBV risks to implement coordinated responses that foster safer civic spaces for women’s participation in peacebuilding processes.

PRESOCO (Peace, Resilience, and Social Cohesion) Project

Duration: July 2021 – July 2024
Project Focus: Peacebuilding, Economic Empowerment, and Social Cohesion
The PRESOCO Project was designed to enhance community resilience and social cohesion through peacebuilding initiatives, vocational training, and support for women’s leadership.

GAASHAAN Program

Duration: November 1, 2023 – March 31, 2028
Project Focus: GBV and Child Protection
The GAASHAAN Project is a multi-year intervention aimed at strengthening protection systems to ensure the availability of timely, and inclusive GBV and child protection services.
